Snow and ice on road

No bugs

Intermittent snow - not hard to cross

The road is in excellent condition, but had some snow near the top. This is such an underrated gem. Panoramic views of the straight, Port Angeles, Canada, the North Cascades, and of course the Olympics. This is easily my best fall hike to date. Near Maiden Peak you can see straight up Grand Valley. Hurricane Ridge visitor center is just visible from the top of Maiden Peak.

Can confirm, was a great hike with dramatic sky and ground, what a nice end of season hike! Winds were blowing at the top, but overall exposure is minimal with relatively easy elevation changes to navigate. Thanks, Nick!
