The Pomas Creek trail is a 5-mile connector trail that can be used to create a 21.5-mile lollipop loop in conjunction with the Entiat River Trail.
To reach the trail and create the lollipop loop, hikers will need to hop on the Entiat River Trail for 8 miles and take a left at the junction with the Ice Lakes Trail. After a brief mile towards Ice Lakes, hikers will take another left at their next junction with Pomas Creek.
From here, the trail will head up high into the mountains for 5 miles and traverse south until heading back down into the Larch Lakes basin. The Pomas Creek trail joins up with the Larch Lakes Trail, which heads back east for 2.5 miles to meet up with the Entiat River Trail. From here, hikers will take a right to retrace their steps along the Entiat River and find their way back to the trailhead.
The trail has received minimal maintenance since the 2015 Wolverine Fire ripped through the Entiat River Valley, and some sections may require route-finding or bushwhacking.
